Pharmacists in Ontario may now treat and prescribe to patients across a range of conditions called Minor Ailments. They are:

  • Allergic rhinitis
  • Candidal stomatitis (oral thrush)
  • Conjunctivitis (Pink eye)
  • Dermatitis (atopic, eczema, allergic and contact)
  • Dysmenorrhea
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)
  • Hemorrhoids
  • Herpes labialis (cold sores)
  • Impetigo
  • Insect bites and urticaria (hives)
  • Tick bites, post-exposure prophylaxis to prevent Lyme disease
  • Musculoskeletal sprains and strains
  • Urinary tract infections (uncomplicated) 
  • Acne (mild)
  • Aphthous Ulcers (Canker sores)
  • Diaper dermatitis
  • Vulvovaginal candidiasis (Yeast Infection)
  • Pinworms and Threadworms
  • Nausea and vomiting of pregnancy

The pretravel travel consultation offers a dedicated time with one of our Travel Health professionals to prepare travelers for the health concerns that might arise during their trips. The objectives of the pretravel consultation include: (1) Performing an individual risk assessment based on the type of trip planned and individual's vaccine and medical history. (2). Communicate to the traveler anticipated health risks and advice on how to minimize injury or sickness and (3) Our trained travel health experts will advise on vaccinations required, Covid testing requirements, Malaria prevention/prophylaxis, food and water safety, Rabies, Traveler's diarrhea, Altitude sickness and many other concerns that may arise on a particular itinerary. Travelers will be provided with a comprehensive, customized assessment and plan at time of appointment. 


Cost of consultation/assessment (IN PERSON) is $49.99 per person ($45 per person if attend as a group of 2 to 4 people with same itinerary). Costs of vaccinations, medications and tests required are additional (and optional) and payable at time of the appointment. Vaccinations and medications will be provided during that appointment if approved. 


We are also an approved Yellow Fever Vaccination center and WE DO PROVIDE FULL DOSES AND A LIFETIME CERTIFICATE for Yellow Fever Vaccination. Cost of a full lifetime dose of Yellow Fever Vaccine is $195 including lifetime certificate. 


Other Travel Vaccinations and FLU/RSV/Meningitis/HPV (Gardasil) can be provided at the same time as the consultation if and when appropriate. 


 *** VIRTUAL APPOINTMENTS OPTION: IF VIRTUAL OPTION IS SELECTED (SEE OPTION BELOW), WE ARE ABLE TO OFFER VIRTUAL (ONLINE) APPOINTMENTS FOR PRE-TRAVEL CONSULTATION APPOINTMENTS. COST OF A VIRTUAL (ONLINE) CONSULTATION IS $39.99 PLUS HST PER PERSON AND ANY FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENTS (FOR VACCINATIONS) WILL BE AN ADDITIONAL $20.00 PLUS HST FOR THE IN-PERSON FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT.

What is MedsCheck?


MedsCheck is an annual consultation for patients who are taking three or more prescription medications for a chronic condition or who are diagnosed with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes. You will have a one-to-one meeting with your pharmacist to ensure that you are safely and appropriately using all your medication. The MedsCheck appointment is your chance to discuss how your prescription, over-the-counter and alternative medications may be affecting. Medication reviews are covered under the ODB plan for eligible patients. Just bring your OHIP card.
